Specialized Diplomatic Training Course (SDTC)

This is a foundation training course regularly run by the Academy for the career diplomats of Bangladesh and International Participants. The syllabus of this course is divided into 30 Modules – each module is coordinated by experts in the respective field or by the Rector/ Director General of the Academy. The subjects include inter-alia, Theories of International Relations, World History and Political Thoughts, International Law and Human Rights, International Relations and Foreign Police Analysis, Foreign Policy of Bangladesh, Fundamentals of Economics, Research Methodology, Elementary levels of Foreign Languages (French and Arabic or Mandarin Chinese), Consular Attachment (in Bangladesh Missions Abroad)/ Internship in the Foreign Ministry (for international participants), History and Politics of Bangladesh, International Security and Strategic Studies,  International Organizations and Regional Affairs, Political Economy of International Trade and Investment, Diplomacy and Negotiations, Diplomatic Skills, Practices and Negotiations, Administrative Attachment (in different Divisions in Bangladesh), Diplomatic Protocols, Norms, and Etiquettes, Consular and Expatriates’ Welfare, Administrative, Personnel and Financial Management, Book and Film Review, English Language Proficiency, World Atlas Studies and Geographic Information System, Art of Public Speaking, Field Trips, Sports and Physical Training, Life Skills Development and Thesis.
